NASA Announces Briefings for SpaceX Crew‑13 Mission
NASA and its partners will hold two news conferences on Monday, August 3, to discuss the upcoming crew rotation to the International Space Station. The events will take place at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.
The first briefing, scheduled for 12:00 p.m. EDT, will feature mission leadership providing an overview of the SpaceX Crew‑13 flight. Topics will include launch preparations, spacecraft status, and the objectives of the expedition.
Following the leadership overview, the crew members assigned to Crew‑13 will speak about their training, expectations for life aboard the station, and the scientific work they plan to conduct during their stay.
Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions after each segment. NASA said the briefings aim to keep the public and media informed about the next step in the regular crew exchange process.
The Crew‑13 mission is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, which partners with SpaceX to transport astronauts to and from the orbiting laboratory. This flight will mark the thirteenth crewed launch of the Dragon spacecraft under that agreement.
The mission is expected to last approximately six months, during which the crew will support ongoing research in microgravity, Earth observation, and technology demonstrations. They will also conduct spacewalks to maintain external hardware and upgrade power systems.
