NASA's Defense of Artemis‑3 Crew Selection
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson stated in a press briefing that the four astronauts selected for the Artemis‑3 mission were chosen purely on the basis of their qualifications and experience. The crew is currently composed entirely of male astronauts.
Nelson emphasized that the selection process was objective and not influenced by gender preferences. He also cautioned the public not to read too much into the selection criteria.
