Rare Tesla offered despite resale ban
A vehicle owner has listed one of the final 250 units of the Model S Signature Edition for sale. The all-electric premium model was discontinued by the manufacturer earlier this year. The listing is handled by the dealership J&S Autohaus based in Ewing.
The asking price exceeds 260,000 US dollars. This amount is substantially higher than the original retail price of new examples. The Signature Edition represents a final variant of the former top-tier model.
Contractual obstacles to resale
The attempt conflicts with a clause in the purchase agreement that prohibits reselling during the first year of ownership. The current seller nevertheless seeks to transfer the car ahead of that period. Whether such a transaction is enforceable depends on interpretation of the terms and applicable local law.
