Rocket Lab completes ninth launch for iQPS
On the morning of August 20, Rocket Lab carried out its ninth mission for the Japanese Earth‑observation company iQPS, placing a privately built satellite into low Earth orbit.
The launch adds to the company’s record of frequent flights for international customers and demonstrates the continued reliance on dedicated small‑launcher services for timely deployment of imaging spacecraft.
Low Earth orbit is the typical altitude for Earth‑observation missions, offering short revisit times and high spatial resolution for imaging payloads.
According to telemetry received after liftoff, the spacecraft separated nominally from the launch vehicle and began its planned orbit insertion sequence.
No anomalies were reported during ascent, and ground stations confirmed stable communication with the satellite shortly after separation.
Both Rocket Lab and iQPS indicated that further flights are planned as the Japanese firm expands its orbital constellation.
