Texas approval clears path for cleaning robot
State regulators have granted Tesla permission to operate a dedicated cleaning robot designed to service the interiors and exteriors of its Cybercabs and Robotaxis. The approval paves the way for the device to be used in routine vehicle maintenance.
Integration with autonomous fleet
Tesla intends to embed the cleaning robot into its autonomous vehicle ecosystem. By automating both driving and cleaning tasks, the company aims to boost vehicle uptime and lower operational costs.
Key technical features
- Fully autonomous navigation within garages and service bays
- Sensor suite for obstacle detection and surface recognition
- Eco‑friendly cleaning agents and energy‑efficient propulsion
Roadmap to deployment
The system is currently undergoing pilot trials in selected Texas locations. Following successful testing, Tesla plans a broader rollout across the United States, with potential expansion to other markets in the future.
