European and American Spacecraft Cross Paths
The European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbiter has detected NASA’s Psyche spacecraft during its ongoing operations near Mars. A corresponding image documents the moment when the two independent missions came into visual range of one another in the Martian region.
Mars Express has been active since 2003 and continuously provides data on the Red Planet. NASA’s Psyche follows its own scientific agenda and traversed the Mars system while en route to an asteroid target in the outer solar system.
