European team clarifies nature of puzzling radio source
A group of astronomers based in Europe has carried out detailed optical and radio measurements of the previously ambiguous source known as GRS 0917+75. Their work established that the object belongs to the category of giant radio galaxies, which are characterized by extraordinarily large structures emitting radio waves.
By analyzing the collected observations, the researchers were also able to derive key physical properties of the galaxy. The findings help resolve uncertainties about a celestial target that had resisted clear classification until now.
