Current Activities of Expedition 74

CRS‑34 Begins Its Return
The uncrewed cargo vehicle CRS‑34, launched by SpaceX, has recently departed the station to return its payload to Earth. Its departure concludes a multi‑week supply mission that delivered scientific equipment, spare parts, and consumables to the ISS.
Planned Work on Canadarm2
Astronauts plan to inspect a mechanical joint and replace a faulty connector on the arm. Canadarm2 is essential for handling payloads, docking spacecraft, and supporting extravehicular activities. A malfunction could significantly affect upcoming missions.
Impact on Mission Operations
The repair is expected to take several hours and requires coordination between NASA and the Canadian Space Agency. During the work, the arm will be temporarily offline, prompting the use of alternative procedures for loading and unloading supplies.
