D-Orbit to conduct launches for ArkEdge Space
Italian space‑logistics specialist D‑Orbit has entered into an agreement with Japanese company ArkEdge Space to provide a series of launches using its ION satellite carrier platform. The contract was announced on 8 July.
The ION satellite carrier is a modular vehicle capable of delivering several payloads to orbit in a single mission. By employing this system, ArkEdge Space aims to secure cost‑effective and flexible access to space.
Under the terms of the deal, D‑Orbit will manage launch operations from a yet‑to‑be‑determined launch site and will handle the integration of ArkEdge’s satellites onto the ION carrier. Specific launch dates and the total number of missions have not been disclosed.
