Satellites delivered to Kourou
The European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, has received the Earth observation spacecraft FLEX and Copernicus Sentinel-3C. Their launch is planned for September, marking the start of the final preparation phase at the site.
- FLEX (Fluorescence Explorer) for plant fluorescence monitoring
- Sentinel-3C under the Copernicus programme
- Vega-C selected as the launch vehicle
Over the next several weeks, engineering and mission personnel will perform detailed examinations of both satellites. These checks are required before the vehicles can be fitted atop the Vega-C rocket for orbital deployment.
The two satellites are scheduled to be carried into orbit together. Pre-launch activities are proceeding as expected, with teams focusing on technical verification and integration with the launch system.
