Call to the online community
NASA is opening the upcoming launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope to digital content creators, influencers and social‑media users who wish to share the mission with their audiences.
Mission objectives
Named after the pioneering astronomer, the telescope is designed to capture wide‑field images that will help map dark energy, discover exoplanets around distant stars and fill observational gaps left by previous observatories.
How to participate
Interested individuals can register through NASA’s official social portal. Once approved, they will receive exclusive launch footage, live‑stream links and background material. Participants are encouraged to produce their own videos, streams or posts using the hashtag #RomanTelescope.
Timeline
The launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. Registrations are accepted until the end of next month, and participation is free of charge, though prior approval is required.
Looking ahead
The outreach effort aims to boost public interest in astronomy and make the scientific results accessible to a wide audience. Selected content may also be featured in official NASA releases and archival collections.
