Relativity Space has entered into an agreement with Space Florida to establish new manufacturing and testing infrastructure for its Terran R launch vehicle on the state’s Space Coast.
The Terran R is a fully reusable, medium‑lift rocket designed to compete with existing vehicles in the commercial launch market. By locating production in Florida, the company aims to leverage the region’s established aerospace workforce, logistics network, and proximity to launch complexes such as Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center.
Under the arrangement, Space Florida will provide land and support services, while Relativity Space will fund the construction of factories, assembly lines, and test stands. The facilities are expected to support both vehicle fabrication and integrated ground‑testing campaigns prior to flight.
Officials say the project could create several hundred high‑skill jobs and stimulate further investment in the local space ecosystem. Environmental considerations will be addressed through the use of existing infrastructure and compliance with state regulations. A precise completion date has not been disclosed, but the partners intend to begin operations within the next few years.
