Launch from New Zealand’s spaceport
On 26 June, private launch provider Rocket Lab will conduct a flight from its launch complex on the North Island of New Zealand. The mission, named “Ten Owl of Ten,” is being carried out for Japan’s remote‑sensing company Synspective.
Mission objective
The rocket will place a satellite into low‑Earth orbit, adding another node to Synspective’s growing constellation of high‑resolution imaging satellites. The new asset is intended to improve the frequency and coverage of surface‑change monitoring, infrastructure mapping and environmental observation.
Technical profile
The launch will use Rocket Lab’s Electron vehicle, a small, partially reusable launch system with a proven flight record. After reaching the target orbit, the payload will employ its own propulsion to maneuver into its final operational slot.
Implications for Earth observation
Expanding Synspective’s network enhances the ability to deliver near‑daily global imagery, a capability increasingly demanded by urban planners, disaster response teams and climate researchers.
