The mission, designated Starlink 17-39, marks SpaceX’s 85th Falcon 9 flight of the year. It continues the company’s rapid cadence of Starlink deployments.
The launch took place just one day after a previous attempt was called off due to a last‑second abort. The specific reason for the scrub was not disclosed, but the retry proceeded without incident.
The rocket delivered another group of Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit, adding to the constellation that aims to provide global broadband coverage, especially to underserved regions.
Following stage separation, the first stage returned for a landing on a drone ship in the Pacific Ocean, demonstrating SpaceX’s reusable launch system once again.
