Innovative manufacturing for the Cybercab
Tesla has been seeking ways to avoid the costly and environmentally taxing paint shop stage of vehicle production. Traditional painting consumes significant space, resources, and generates considerable emissions.
Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) as a solution
In a recent post on X, the company confirmed that the Cybercab will be produced using Reaction Injection Molding. This technique integrates pigment into the polymer while the panel is formed, removing the requirement for a separate paint line.
