Smart Summon arrives for the Cybertruck
More than two and a half years after the vehicle’s first deliveries, Tesla announced that the Smart Summon function—part of the Full Self‑Driving suite—will be enabled for the Cybertruck. The feature allows owners to call the truck to their location from a parking spot or a short distance away.
The rollout comes as part of a series of over‑the‑air software updates that have already been deployed to other Tesla models earlier this year. No physical service visit is required; the update will be delivered directly to the vehicle.
Smart Summon relies on the truck’s existing camera array, ultrasonic sensors and radar to detect obstacles and navigate safely. It is intended for use in private garages, corporate lots and similar environments, not for public road traffic.
