Tesla files lawsuit against supplier over Cybertruck tooling
Tesla has initiated legal action against a supplier, claiming that the company is withholding essential tooling required for Cybertruck production and demanding a ransom for its release.
The automaker states that the disputed equipment is critical for stamping and assembling the vehicle’s stainless‑steel body panels, and that without it assembly line operations cannot proceed at the planned rate.
According to the filing, Tesla attempted to resolve the dispute through negotiations, but the supplier allegedly refused to release the tooling unless additional payments were made beyond the original contract terms.
