Further decline expected by 2040
Researchers behind the assessment suggest that a comparable reduction may occur over the coming years. By 2040, the cost of reaching space could fall by nearly the same proportion as it did across the past six decades.
The work draws on extended datasets covering both commercial and public space activities. Analysts attribute the historical drop in expenses primarily to technological progress and the increasing reuse of launch vehicles.
